About JAWA Perak

With its low-slung and floating single seat with an integrated taillight, teardrop fuel tank, and low-set and broad handlebar, the new Jawa Perak maintains the bobber design. The pillion seat is optional. The design is distinctly Jawa, with the bullet shell shaped headlight, long forks, and a 1485 mm wheelbase. The bike receives a sinister blacked-out paint job that encompasses the engine and spoked wheels.

The biggest difference between the Jawa Perak and other JAWA bikes is the bigger engine. The bike is powered by a 334 cc DOHC liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine that produces around 30.22 bhp and 32.74 Nm of peak torque. The engine has been bored out to provide additional power and utilises the same 293 cc mill as the Jawa and the Jawa Forty Two. The motor comes with a 6-speed gearbox and is BS6 certified, making it the first Jawa to comply with the upcoming emission standards.

The front suspension is handled by telescopic forks, while a mono-shock unit operates the rear suspension instead of dual shocks on previous JAWA bikes. Twin disc brakes with dual-channel ABS come standard for stopping power. The swingarm is also longer than the previous Jawa motorcycles.

JAWA Perak Expert Review

Introduction

The elegant, stylish, and agile Jawa Perak is an immediate head-turner. This bike is more of a concept vehicle that seems to come straight off a motor show pavilion. The company made a big revelation a couple of years ago that it is coming up with something concept-y and funky, a sort of a showstopper that perfectly follows the production-spec Jawa Forty-Two and Jawa. This bike is a visual treat with a great appeal, lasting value and good stamina. With the distinctly Jawa design, this bike vibes well with the rider. This bike is apparently a bobber-take that looks out-of-the box and rides well.

How is the design?

The bobber design of Jawa Perak is low-slung with a single unattached floating seat. This eye-catching and unique cantilevered seat is perfectly bolted to the bike’s main seat by a tough metal sheet and its tan finishing complements the gold pinstriping and the matte black theme of the bike. The broad and grippy handlebars, the integrated tail lamps, and the teardrop gasoline tank contribute to the classy appearance of the bike. The unique design of the bike demanded a modified swingarm and frame. The typical concept look of the bike is completed with slash-cut and stylish exhaust pipe on both sides. It is made production ready by placing the collector box underneath where it cannot be seen. The speedometer, however, continues to trap enough moisture on chilly mornings and its irritant placement does not allow the rider to read the dial’s bottom half. The black paint on its body adds to its premium-ness.

How is the performance?

There are no other brands that can do a better job, at this price range, of making a perfect style statement than Jawa. It is a wonderful on-road experience to ride the Jawa Perak with a more efficient and flexible engine. The liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, 334 cc engine is able to generate 4 hp and 4 Nm more than the normal Jawas. So, this bike is delivering a power of 30.22 bhp and a peak torque of 32.74 Nm. The engine feels familiar with that typical thrummed noise of the exhaust which has become relatable with Jawa. The motor has this flat power output and a relatively stronger surge when the revs ascend. Mild vibrations are felt at higher speed and get stronger beyond 140 kmph. Having said that, this is not quite a bike that one would want to take on long hauls.

How does the Jawa Perak ride?

The riding posture of Jawa Perak is painful due to the fact that the placement of the seat and the foot peg is more cramped than the conventional Jawas. Another issue is that the foot pegs of the bike are rather high up and rear-set for the matter and soon the hips and knees demand a break. The ride quality is also very punishing because the suspension is reduced on both sides for bringing the low-slung appearance and the rides on bumpy roads will not feel joyous. The ground clearance of the bike is dropped to an uncomfortable 145mm and may scrape over bumpers and speed breakers if not carefully ridden. On the plus side, this bike feels agile and light, despite the 16 mm stretch of the wheelbase.

How comfortable is Jawa Perak?

As mentioned earlier, Jawa Perak is not the most comfortable to ride on long hauls and at higher speeds beyond 140 kmph. The seating posture is painful due to the fact that the placement of the foot peg and the single seat is cramped. The older models do not have the same issue. The ground clearance of this bike could be improved for ensuring smoother and seamless cornering. However, Jawa Perak seems to be confident and in command as it perfectly navigates around turns and curves. This bike feels more comfortable on shorter distances and seems more like a cruiser-bike. However, it is not ideal for off-road travelling. Before choosing it as a daily commuter, one must test its performance and comfort.

How's the tech?

The following are some of the significant technological specifications and features of the Jawa Perak.

  • The bike is equipped with a self-start mechanism.
  • The liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, 334 cc engine is able to generate a power of 30.22 bhp and a peak torque of 32.74 Nm.
  • The front suspension of the bike is a telescopic hydraulic fork and the rear suspension is a mono shock-absorber.
  • Both brake types are disc.
  • This bike has an analogue speedometer and a digital trip metre.
  • It has a dual-channel ABS and twin exhaust.
  • This bike has an engine-kill switch and pass light.

How's the mileage of the Jawa Perak?

The Jawa Perak can deliver an average of 30 kmpl. It can obtain a higher mileage when ridden on highways.

Is the Jawa Perak good value for money?

It is commendable and brave for Jawa Moto to take a rather uncompromised approach to design and style, no doubt by undercutting its practicality. The firm single-seater and the big panels rarely have a significant storage room besides holding some papers and small tools. The bike is priced at almost 197,000 and not very desirable for riders who demand thrill, long touring and gentle cruising.

How is the after sales service?

There are a few authorised service centres here in India that offer three free services for the Jawa Perak. The first service can be availed after 30 days or 1000 km, the second service after 6 months or 6000 km and the third service after 12 months or 12000 km.

Which motorbikes compete in this segment?

The motorbikes that compete in the same segment as Jawa Perak are Honda H’ness CB350, Royal Enfield Classic 350, Royal Enfield Meteor 350 and TVS Ronin.

Verdict (Value for money)

If you are looking for a light-weight cruising bike for regular commuting, then there are other bikes that can meet the expectations at a lower price range. If you are looking for a good long-haul experience, then Jawa Perak is not for you. However, in terms of style statement this can be your perfect bike.

The 334 cc engine in the Perak makes 30.22 bhp and 32. 74 Nm. It gives a mileage of about 35 kmpl with a fuel tank capacity of 14 litres. I like this bike and purchase java perak..i m waiting this bike ....
Good looks and acceleration but super uncomfortable

After 6 months of booking, i got my perak. The bike got an appealing look. I was attracted with its bobber style. I have bought it for daily commuting. I am the first owner of perak in j&k. Acceleration and performance wise its pretty good. O-100 in just about 8 seconds. Dual channel abs totally helps in controlling the bike when you are riding at more than 100 kmph. I am riding this bike continuously from the past 20 days and thats the pros i felt about this bike. Now talking about the cons. First thing first, the odometer position is totally way forward, while riding, the rider cannot see the down side of the odometer as its face is way forward. Next thing, suspensions are poor, if you are riding at more than 50kmph, it cannot protect you from even small potholes, you will feel super uncomfortable. At even 25kmph, you cannot run over a speed breaker, as the bike will hit the ground due to low ground clearance. Its a super hard bike with poor suspension. Next thing, the horn is very bad as compared to its look. Even activa scooter has better horn than perak. Another thing, the mileage i am getting is about 20-21 kmpl while company claims it to be 35 kmpl and thats too low. Last thing, the side stand is small and it cannot stand on off-road surface as it has a risk to fall down.Final words, its a small ride city bike, that can only be ridden on flat and clean road with no bumps at all (which is not possible on indian roads). So buy only if you are super comfortable in accepting big shocks on small pits for spending around 2.5 lacs on a jawa bobber bike.

All You Need to Know About the Perak

The Jawa Perak comes with a lot of intrinsic features. Here's an overview of this cruiser bike. Read on below to learn more about it.

Jawa's Perak is driven by a 334cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, DOHC engine that produces 30.22 bhp and 32.74 Nm of torque and is compatible with BS6. The Perak's engine is bigger than the Jawa and the Forty Two at this capacity. The bigger bore results in the increased capacity, but the stroke remains the same. The Jawa and Jawa Forty Two, on the other hand, produce 27 bhp and 28 Nm of torque.

The Perak has a distinct appearance from the Jawa and the Forty Two. It has a low stance, which gives it the appearance of being longer. The bike also ditches the chrome in favour of a matte black finish.

The Perak is a single-seater with an unusual toolbox design. A floating seat, bar-end mirrors, cut fenders, and stubby exhaust mufflers are among the Bobber-inspired design features. We appreciate that the Perak isn't a half-hearted attempt at becoming a Bobber and that Jawa has gone all-in.

The Perak's bobber stance is due to its unique rear sub-frame and suspension setup. While it seems to be a hardtail motorcycle, it really features a monoshock concealed under the rider's seat. This isn't the first time a manufacturer has selected this sort of suspension; the Triumph Bonneville bobber has used it previously.

Surprisingly, the Jawa and the Forty Two may be specified with rear drum brakes. The Perak is only available with disc brakes on both ends. The Jawa Perak comes in only one colour, charcoal black.

The Perak is not only India's least expensive bobber, but it holds the title by a wide margin. The Triumph Bonneville bobber comes closest, at Rs 10.28 lakh - over five times Perak's price. The Harley-Davidson Street Bob (Rs 12.68 lakh) and the Indian Scout bobber are the other two Bobbers on sale (Rs 13.15 lakh).

In true bobber form, the Perak's front and rear fenders are cut, and the chassis is modified to suit the new wide cage-type swing arm. Surprisingly, the slash-cut exhaust observed on the pre-production variant is still present.

The Perak's 334 cc engine is so adaptable to a broad range of riding circumstances that we'd love to see it on more Jawa motorcycles. It cruises at 100 kmph rather nicely,
