The Lotus Emira, unveiled in July 2021, represents the British automaker's final internal combustion engine (ICE) sports car, marking a pivotal shift towards an all-electric lineup.

Design and Features

The Emira draws inspiration from the Lotus Evija hypercar, boasting bold, sculpted body lines and a contemporary aesthetic. Inside, it features a 12.3-inch digital driver's display and a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, enhancing both functionality and luxury.

Performance

The Emira offers two engine options:

• 2.0-liter Turbocharged Four-Cylinder: Sourced from Mercedes-AMG, delivering 360 bhp, paired with an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
• 3.5-liter Supercharged V6: Supplied by Toyota, producing 400 bhp, with a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission and an option for a 6-speed manual gearbox.

Both variants achieve a top speed of 290 km/h, with the 0-100 km/h sprint completed in 4.2 seconds for the automatic and 4.3 seconds for the manual.

Market Availability

The Emira is expected to be launched in India by mid-2024, with pricing likely to range between ?1.6 crore and ?2 crore (ex-showroom), competing with models like the Porsche 718 Cayman.

Transition to Electric Vehicles

The Emira serves as Lotus's last ICE model before the transition to an all-electric lineup, including the upcoming Emeya GT car, set for release in 2025.
