The 2017 Hyundai Elantra will also lock horns with the likes of Skoda Octavia, Toyota Corolla Altis, among others. With the offering from Toyota ruling the segment at present, it will be interesting to see if the new gen Elantra will be able to break the lead. Bookings have already commenced for a token amount of Rs. 25,000, while prices start at an introductory Rs. 12.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
The range-topping Hyundai Elantra also comes loaded on tech including an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with navigation, USB and AUX connectivity as well as Apple CarPlay/Android Auto. You also get Bluetooth telephony on the car. The top-end automatic also comes with ventilated seats and sunroof as salient features. In terms of powertrain, the new generation Elantra get the same 1.6-litre diesel engine, while Hyundai has introduced the new 2.0-litre petrol engine, replacing the older 1.6-litre unit.
