The long-awaited 2017 Ford EcoSport subcompact SUV today went on sale in India, priced at Rs. 7.31 lakh to Rs. 10.67 lakh. The updated 2017 model comes with a host of new features, improved styling, revised cabin and an all-new petrol engine as well. We have already shared our initial driving experience of the new Ford EcoSport and we thought the car came with a lot of improvements. The 2017 Ford EcoSport facelift also comes with a bunch of new features that are available right from the base model itself. Dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, air conditioner, power steering and all 4 power windows and more are standard across variant range. From the Trend variant and above you also get a touchscreen infotainment system, 6.5-inch for the Trend and Trend+, 8-inch screen for the Titanium and Titanium+ variants. The system comes with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, navigation, and Ford's SYNC3 in-car connectivity system with voice control.

Under the hood, along with the existing 99 bhp 1.5-litre diesel motor, the 2017 EcoSport will also come with an all-new 1.5-litre Ti-VCT petrol engine from the company's new line-up. Unofficially known as the Dragon engine, the new three-cylinder motor makes about 120 bhp and develops a peak torque of 150 Nm. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard along with a 6-speed automatic dual clutch transmission (DCT) for the new petrol engine. These engines are one of the most powerful in the segment and offer great performance.
