2017 KTM 390 Duke Launch Details Revealed

The 2017 KTM 390 Duke is likely to be launched in early 2017, carandbike.com has learnt. There's been no official confirmation of a tentative launch date yet of the new KTM 390 Duke, but we expect it to be launched in January or latest by February 2017 with deliveries commencing by the first quarter of the same year.

The 2017 KTM 390 Duke will be launched in early 2017, in all likelihood by February 2017, CarandBike.com has learnt. The updated KTM 390 Duke was unveiled recently at the 2016 EICMA Motorcycle Show in Milan and gets some cosmetic upgrades, including an updated design and side-mounted exhaust. (New KTM 390 Duke Front Profile) The new KTM 390 Duke gets new styling and bodywork inspired by the KTM 1290 Super Duke R with some new features added as well. The new 390 Duke sports a new split all-LED headlight with daytime running lights, full-digital colour TFT display and revised front fender. The fuel tank design is new too, with new tank extensions and gets a capacity upgrade at 13.4 litres. Additionally, there are new, redesigned split seats. (2017 KTM 390 Duke Rear Profile) The new KTM 390 Duke gets a ride-by-wire system, standard dual-channel Bosch ABS system, with an upgraded front disc - a larger 320mm disc gripped by a ByBre caliper. There's high quality WP suspension too - a 43mm USD fork and a rear monoshock. The rear subframe is new as well, sporting a redesigned tail section and the exhaust is new as well, side mounted instead of the underbelly exhaust on the outgoing model. (2017 KTM 390 Duke competes with the upcoming BMW G 310 R) The 2017 KTM 390 Duke will be powered by the same 373cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine with similar power figures - 43bhp power and 37Nm of torque. But the engine gets some minor updates to meet Euro4 emission and noise regulations. A new catalytic converter and the redesigned exhaust is also part of those updates, but have added to the weight of the bike, which now tips the scales at 149kg. The 2017 KTM 390 Duke is expected to be priced slightly higher than the outgoing model, at around Rs 2.2 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The 2017 model 390 Duke certainly promises to be a worthy upgrade for the KTM 390 Duke, the leading performance naked in the Indian two wheeler space. Once launched the Duke 390 will compete against the likes of the Benelli TNT 300, the upcoming BMW G 310 R and to some extent, even the Royal Enfield Classic 500.
