Bookings for the 2018 Maruti Suzuki Ciaz facelift will officially commence from tomorrow, August 10. Customers can now book the car for Rs. 11,000 at any Nexa showrooms, or e-Book it via the Nexa website. The facelifted Maruti Suzuki Ciaz sedan will come with considerable cosmetic updates and a host new and updated features and equipment. Maruti Suzuki claims that the updated Ciaz will further strengthen the company's position in the A3 premium sedan segment. The car will be officially launched in India on August 20, 2018. Dealers have been accepting unofficial bookings for the car for a couple of weeks now.

It's been over four years since the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz was launched in India and the car was in desperate need of an update. In fact, in the last six months, the Ciaz's sales have been consistently dropping and in July 2018, Maruti Suzuki India saw almost a 100 per cent drop in the car's sales compared to the July 2017. With the upcoming update, the 2018 Ciaz is expected to be a lot more equipped to take on its rivals - the Hyundai Verna, Honda City and the newest entrant, Toyota Yaris.

Maruti Suzuki has also announced that the Ciaz facelift will feature a bold design and an aggressive stance, offering it a slightly more premium road presence. The exteriors updated will include revised LED Projector headlamp with LED daytime running lights, new LED rear combination taillamps, and a set of new machined alloy wheels. The cabin, on the other hand, is said to feature an updated dashboard and host of convenience features that make it a bit more upmarket.

Under the hood, the 2018 Maruti Suzuki Ciaz will come with a new 1.5-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine, which will be mated to an improved mild hybrid SHVS (smart hybrid vehicle system) technology. The diesel version will continue to get the tried and tested 1.3-litre DDIS oil burner, also paired with the SHVS system. Transmission options will include a 5-speed manual and, possibly, a 5-speed AMT unit as well, replacing the 4-speed automatic torque converter.
