Last month, we reported that two specifications of the new generation Mercedes-Benz A-Class were spotted testing with camouflage. Now, more images have surfaced on the internet that shows the 2018 Mercedes-Benz A-Class in all its glory hinting that the German car-makers are almost ready with the production version of the updated hatchback. Scheduled to debut at the Geneva Motor Show, the new gen A-Class in the spy images seems like a model built for crash test purposes.

As far as the exterior designs go, the new generation A-Class will get major cosmetic updates. Based on the MFA 2 platform, the 2018 A-Class will use aluminium for lighter kerb weight and higher rigidity. It is also expected to get a longer wheelbase giving more space to the rear passenger seats. With its swooping bonnet, sharper LED headlights, and a wide diamond grille, the 2018 Mercedes-Benz A-Class gets redesigned front and rear bumpers with wider LED taillights. Inside, you will be greeted by two digital screens, one for instruments and one for infotainment system.

At the heart of the new generation A-Class is a 1.6-litre/ 2.0-litre petrol engines, and a 2.0-litre or a 1.5-litre diesel engine. All the engines will get a 9-Speed DCT gearbox, with reports of a 6-Speed manual transmission also on offer.

By the looks of it, the 2018 A-Class is almost similar to the concept vehicle that was showcased at the Shanghai Auto Show earlier this year. The 2018 Mercedes A-Class will also be coming to India by end of next year.
