2018 Suzuki GSX-S750: What You Can Expect
Key Highlights
  • The Suzuki GSX-S750 will be assembled in India
  • Price is expected to be below Rs. 8 lakh (ex-showroom)
  • GSX-S750 will rival Triumph Street Triple S, Kawasaki Z900

The 2018 Suzuki GSX-S750 was unveiled by Suzuki Motorcycle India Private Limited (SMIPL) at the Auto Expo 2018. The GSX-S750 will be launched in India, sometime by the middle of 2018. The Suzuki GSX-S750 will be the second big bike model from Suzuki which will be assembled in India, after the Suzuki Hayabusa. So, prices are expected to be competitive, compared to the rival models from other manufacturers. And the middleweight naked from Suzuki also promises to be as versatile for running errands around town, as well as for occasional track duties. Here's what you can expect from the upcoming Suzuki GSX-S750.

The Suzuki GSX-S750 gets aggressive and sharp styling like the GSX-S1000

1. Design and styling

The Suzuki GSX-S750 is a middleweight naked with a 750 cc engine, but the bike's design and styling is borrowed from its bigger sibling, the Suzuki GSX-S1000. It has a similar looking single headlamp, with a sculpted fuel tank and edgy, sharp, fuel tank extensions and rear end. The GSX-S750 certainly looks muscular, brawny and aggressive, and so in the design department, it ticks all the boxes in the "appearance" department to give it the edgy, aggressive looks of a performance naked. The headlight cowl, belly pan and tail section are all redesigned for a more aggressive look. The headlight still uses a bulb, but the taillight is now LED.

2. Features and more

The 2018 Suzuki GSX-S750 gets an all-digital instrument panel. It's an LCD panel, but is easy to read and gives you all the information you need, including speedometer, tachometer, odometer, two trip meters, gear position indicator, fuel consumption figures, clock, selected traction control settings and more. It's not exactly a modern full-colour TFT panel, but it's nicely laid out, easy to read, and does the job. The GSX-750 also gets a four-level traction control, with Level 1 being least intrusive, with Levels 2 and 3 offering more traction control intervention. It can also be switched off for aggressive track use.

The 749 cc, in-line four cylinder motor makes 113 bhp @ 10,500 rpm

3. High-performance in-line four cylinder engine

The Suzuki GSX-S750 is powered by a 749 cc, liquid-cooled, DOHC, in-line four cylinder motor fed by EFI and Suzuki Dual Throttle Valve (SDTV) bodies. The engine is tuned for more mid-range torque, and it pumps out 113 horsepower at 10,500 rpm. The Suzuki K5 derived motor, now gets crankcase ventilation holes in the bottom of each cylinder and the motor is fed by 10-hole, long nose fuel injectors to move more fuel in and improve combustion. A new airbox with three inlets is designed to enhance the intake sound as well.

4. Suspension and Brakes

The GSX-S750 comes kitted out with inverted 41 mm KYB forks which are adjustable for pre-load. At the rear is a single shock with seven levels of preload adjustment. As with the front, the rear also cannot be adjusted for compression damping. ABS is now standard, and the GSX-S750 gets radially mounted Nissin calipers gripping 310 mm, petal-style rotors.

The Suzuki GSX-750 will be priced between Rs. 7-8 lakh (ex-showroom)

5. Expected pricing

The Suzuki GSX-S750 will be introduced and assembled in India from completely knocked down (CKD) kits, and Suzuki India will need to keep pricing very competitive to play in a segment which already has several popular models, including the Triumph Street Triple S, the Kawasaki Z900 and even the Ducati Monster 797. We expect pricing to be in the region of just under Rs. 8 lakh. Anything more, and it will be difficult for the GSX-S750 to make a mark. If Suzuki does price it less than Rs. 7.5 lakh, then the GSX-S750 will offer a very capable, middleweight naked to the Indian consumer.
