The next generation Mercedes-Benz GLE is slated for for launch next year and the company says that the new model is a complete overhaul over the current version on sale. With the official unveil just months away, the 2019 GLE's interior has been leaked online in a host of new emerges. Codenamed W167, the luxury SUV will see a completely new design language as seen in the previous spy shots while the interior gets the luxury treatment for a more upmarket and classy appearance. The new Mercedes-Benz GLE also borrows several cues from the flagship GLS SUV that certainly looks appealing.

Most prominently, the fourth generation Mercedes-Benz GLE uses a dual infotainment display divided for the digital instrument console and the infotainment unit. The three-spoke steering wheel looks sporty and comes with touch-operated controls. The leaked image also reveals integrated grab handles into the centre console.

The SUV will also come with touchpad on the centre tunnel, while the touchscreen system will feature the MBUX control and infotainment system that made its debut on the new generation Mercedes-Benz A-Class. The leaked images also reveal the new uniquely designed air vents, climate control function, and door-mounted electrically adjustable function for the front seats.

The new generation Mercedes-Benz GLE will be based on the automaker's MHA RWD platform and will be offered in a seven-seater layout. The design language on the new GLE will be a lot more evolved and bold too, with the massive front grille, sweptback LED headlamps and wraparound LED taillights. The overall styling too will be more curvaceous than the current version. In addition to the standard version, the new generation GLE is likely to be followed up with the second generation GLE Coupe.
Engine options on the 2019 Mercedes-Benz GLE will include the six-cylinder petrol and diesel options, with the a 48-volt mild-hybrid system to be offered later in the timeline. The entry-level versions will be using turbocharged four-cylinder petrol and diesel mills, much like the outgoing GLE. All engines are likely to be paired with the 9-speed automatic transmission.

Apart from the standard version, there will also be the Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 complete with the Panamericana grille with power coming from the 4.0-litre Biturbo V8 engine. The motor is expected to produce about 563 bhp and 750 Nm of peak torque on the base GLE 63, while the GLE 63 S will make 604 bhp and 850 Nm of peak torque. An entry-level Mercedes-AMG GLE 53 is also said to be in the works with a 3.0-litre in-line, six-cylinder turbocharged motor with 429 bhp and 520 Nm of peak torque.
The 2019 Mercedes-Benz GLE is likely to debut at the Paris Motor Show later this year as per some reports, while sales will begin towards the end of this year in Europe. The SUV will make its way to India replacing the current model sometime next year.
