Honda has finally pulled the wraps off the 2020 Honda CR-V facelift. This particular model is the US-spec version, and in addition to refreshed styling, new features and upgraded engine options, the CR-V now also comes in an electric-hybrid variant. In fact, the 2020 Honda CR-V Hybrid will be the first electrified SUV from the Japanese carmaker in America, and the third model overall, after the Accord Hybrid and Insight. The US-spec Honda CR-V will be manufactured at the company's Greensburg plant in Indiana.

Visually, the 2020 Honda CR-V gets and a bunch of exterior updates featuring bolder front and rear styling redesigned wheels and few other changes. The updated face now comes with a more stylish glossy black slat instead on chrome, and mesh grille, and while the LED headlamps look the same but the cluster design has been revised. The hybrid model, of course, will get the signature blue highlight for the Honda logo and the hybrid badge. The new CR-V also comes with a new front bumper with a beefy black cladding with muscular lines and a pair of silver horns-like element with chrome highlights, along with horizontal LED daytime running lamps and a large airdam.

The profile, however, looks largely similar to the existing model save for the chrome insert on the ORVMs, and newly designed 18-inch wheels with a dark grey and machined finish, and larger 19-inch wheel for the Touring trims. For the rear, the changes include more sharper-looking LED taillamps with new dark-tinted effect, and a new dark chrome treatment for the garnish below the rear glass. The Honda CR-V Hybrid Touring trims receive a unique rear bumper, while the regular CR-V Hybrid gets a hidden tailpipe, while non-hybrid CR-V Touring trims get new chrome exhaust finishers for a sporty appearance.

The cabin, on the other hand, looks largely similar to the existing model. However, the non-hybrid and hybrid version is differentiated by three switches for Econ, Sport or EV mode on the latter, positioned beside the push-button gear selector. Econ mode alters throttle inputs to help the driver maximize fuel efficiency, while Sport enhances throttle response for a more aggressive feel, with the engine sound enhanced by Active Sound Control for a sportier note. EV Mode allows the CR-V Hybrid to operate under electric-only power when the hybrid battery has a sufficient charge. The instrument panel also is unique to CR-V Hybrid models and features a display for power/charge status, as well as a driver-selectable display for power distribution and regeneration.
The CR-V also gets colour TFT driver-information interface (DII) centre meter display, available 7-inch touchscreen Display Audio interface with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, and an available Honda Satellite-Linked Navigation System. Also available are remote engine start, dual-zone climate control, an Electric Parking Brake (EPB), rear USB charging ports, front passenger seat with 4-way power adjustment, driver's seat with 8-way power adjustment and 4-way power lumbar support, and heated front seats.
2020 Honda CR-V hybrid gets a 2.0-litre engine with 2 electric motors, and the regular 1.5-litre VTEC engine for the non-hybrid version
The CR-V hybrid comes with a 2.0-litre, 16-valve DOHC, paired with a two electric motor system, without the need for a conventional automatic transmission. The engine offers a combined output of 209 bhp. The hybrid model also gets an all-wheel-drive system and an electronic clutch activates, that sends the appropriate level of power from the electric motor to the rear wheels. All non-hybrid CR-V models get the 1.5-litre DOHC, direct-injected VTEC engine that makes 187 bhp, offered in both fronts- and all-wheel-drive configurations. Power is transmitted through a continuously variable transmission (CVT) with Honda G-Shift control logic.
