The biggest and most prominent change is the absence of the exposed steel trellis frame, a signature design and structural element of the Monster since it was introduced in the 1990s.

Design & Ergonomics

The biggest and most prominent change is the departure from the traditional steel trellis frame, which has been a signature backbone of the Monster since it was introduced in 1993. The new Monster gets an all-new aluminium frame, and the bike is also lighter than before, with a dry weight of 166 kg. The styling is quite different from earlier Monsters, although the overall silhouette is unmistakably of a Ducati Monster. The chiselled fuel tank and the new LED headlight and the overall look of the bike resemble that of an MV Agusta naked. The handlebar has been moved 70 mm closer to the rider and the footpegs are positioned 10 mm lower than before, and these changes are likely to make the seating geometry more comfortable than before.
