With the coming of the Ducati Multistrada V4, India finally has all three Ducati V4 models on sale. The Ducati Multistrada V4 is offered in two variants, which are the V4 and the V4S. The V4 is priced at Rs. 18.99 lakh, the V4 S in red is priced at Rs. 23.10 lakh and lastly, the V4 S in grey is priced at Rs. 23.30 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom, Delhi. The Multistrada V4 is the third Ducati to get a V4 engine after the Ducati Panigale V4 and the Ducati Streetfighter V4. The biggest change in the V4 Granturismo engine is that it uses valve springs instead of Ducati's traditional desmodromic valve system.

The 1,158 cc V4 engine is lighter, shorter and more compact than the 1,260 cc v-twin engine of the Multistrada 1260. The engine makes 168 bhp at 10,500 rpm, and 125 Nm of peak torque at 8,750 rpm. The engine also comes with 60,000 km valve service intervals. The motorcycle also gets cylinder deactivation system, which shuts down the rear cylinder bank when the bike is idling.

The 2021 Ducati Multistrada V4 base model gets a fully-adjustable 50 mm upside down fork and adjustable monoshock with a cantilever layout from Marzocchi. The V4 S and V4 S Sport get semi-active Ducati Skyhook Suspension system which has been upgraded with auto-levelling function. The Multistrada V4 gets Ducati's latest electronics system, powered by an inertial measurement unit to manage the cornering anti-lock braking system (ABS), wheelie control and traction control systems, as well as cornering lights for the S models.

The Multistrada V4 offers four ride modes - Travel, Enduro, Sport and Urban, each with different adjustments for engine output, traction control and ABS to suit different styles of riding. There is a 6.5-inch TFT screen on the V4S which has smartphone mirroring function, integrated navigation and optical bonding technology which offers crisp view during day or night. Ducati India will offer a customisation program for the Multistrada V4 allowing customers to choose the rims, tyres, wheels and other bits and personalise their bikes as per their requirement.
In India, the Ducati Multistrada V4 goes up against the BMW R 1250 GS and the Honda CRF1100L Africa Twin. The Multistrada V4 is expected to reach showrooms early next week. Pre-bookings for the motorcycle began a few weeks ago. Ducati will offer factory-fitted spoked wheels on the Multistrada V4 but that bike will come in later this year.
