The 2021 MINI Cooper range made its India debut recently and the models arrived with a mild facelift bringing cosmetic upgrades and feature additions. The MINI range continues to be for a niche customer, which along with its compact size and strong British heritage makes it a highly desirable and aspirational choice for many. With the 2021 MINI Cooper range, the company has leased a fresh life into the offering. 1. The 2021 MINI 3-Door Hatch and Convertible get cosmetic changes in the form of the revised hexagonal grille and tweaked round headlamps. The LED turn indicators on the side are now integrated into the redesigned side scuttles, while the air intakes are now vertically integrated into the bodywork for better cooling the engine and the brakes. The new MINI JCW further differentiates itself with the honeycomb mesh grille, red finished cross member at the bottom edge, and racing stripes on the bonnet. There's also a contrast paint finish on the roof and ORVM caps, while completing the look are the larger 18-inch alloy wheels.

The cabin largely remains the same on the facelifted MINI Cooper range but gets a new multi-function steering wheel, an updated 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system that now gets a new software with sharper graphics. MINI has also included Live Widgets on the hatchback along with ambient lighting options. The audio control unit and the function buttons for the hazard warning lights and driver assistance systems are now integrated into the circular control unit.

3. The feature list also includes the optional MINI Wired Package that adds a Navigation System, Wireless Charging and enhanced Bluetooth mobile preparation. The infotainment system is compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and it also gets a Harmon Kardon sound system. There's also a host of personalisation options on the luxury hatchback right from paint choices to upholstery options. There are both fabric and leatherette upholstery options to choose from.

4. The MINI 3-Door Hatch and the MINI Convertible are powered by the 2.0-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine which develops 189 bhp and 280 Nm of peak torque. The 3-Door is capable of sprinting from 0-100 kmph in 6.7 seconds, while the Convertible takes 7.1 seconds. This engine comes paired with a 7-speed double-clutch Steptronic transmission. The new MINI John Cooper Works continues with the 2.0-litre, four-cylinder, twin-turbo petrol engine that puts out 228 bhp and 320 Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to an eight-speed Steptronic sport gearbox and can do the 0-100 kmph sprint in 6.1 seconds.

5. Prices for the 2021 MINI Cooper range begins from Rs. 38 lakh for the 3-Door hatchback, followed by the MINI Convertible priced at Rs. 44 lakh, while the MINI JCW is priced at Rs. 45.50 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom. MINI also offers a tonne of personalisation and accessories that can be added to the car, which makes the hatchback so desirable.
