Skoda Auto has launched a new matte edition of the Rapid compact sedan in India with prices starting at Rs. 11.99 lakh for the 1.0 TSI Manual variant, while the 1.0 TSI Automatic variant is prices at Rs. 13.49 lakh. The 2021 Skoda Rapid Matte will be offered in an exclusive carbon steel matte body colour adding to its style quotient while the radiator grille and spoiler are finished in gloss black, going very well for the contrast. The rear too gets a gloss black diffusor, tailgate spoiler and the black trunk lip garnish. Then, this new matte edition comes with all black alloy wheels which again look very sporty and in one the new Skoda Rapid Matte Edition gives a monochrome sort of appeal.

The cabin is finished in dual-tone tellur grey with black leatherette and Alcantara inserts.

On the safety front, it gets dual airbags and anti-lock braking system (ABS) parktronic rear parking sensors, auto-dimming inner rear view mirror, rear windscreen defogger with timer, height adjustable three-point seatbelts at the front, rough road package and engine immobilizer with floating code system are standard.

It is powered by a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder turbocharged TSI petrol motor belting out 108 bhp at 5000 - 5500 rpm and 175 Nm of peak torque at 1750 rpm - 4000 rpm.

It is powered by a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder turbocharged TSI petrol motor belting out 108 bhp at 5000 - 5500 rpm and 175 Nm of peak torque at 1750 rpm - 4000 rpm. The engine is mated to a six-speed manual gearbox as standard while a six-speed torque convertor automatic transmission is optional. Skoda Auto is also offering the Shield Plus package with the Rapid with a six-years coverage. It incorporates motor insurance, 24x7 roadside assistance, and an extended warranty.
