It was one of the most popular 4x4's available in the country. The Gypsy has been discontinued by Maruti for consumers but still remains in heavy production for the army. The Gypsy is a tough vehicle that could run on any terrain no matter how bad the condition of the land, which is the reason why it is one of the best vehicles used by the Indian army.

Tata Xenon is one of the few pickup trucks available in India. The Xenon has also been discontinued for regular consumers but is still in production for the army. The Xenon is mainly used for the transportation of troops and heavy machinery. The army uses it, equipped with 4 jerry cans and convoy lights.

The Safari Storme is one of the most powerful vehicles used by the Indian army and another vehicle which has gone off sale for the general public. The army uses a customised version of the Safari Storme called the GS800 which is 70% more powerful than the regular version. It also comes equipped with stiffer suspension, an antenna and a jerry can holder.

The Mahindra Marksman was India's first ALSV (Armoured Light Specialist Vehicle). It is made bulletproof to provide protection against grenade attacks and light firearms. Besides army, it is also used by the police force and paramilitary in India for counter-terrorist operations as well as conventional roles. It was unveiled in 2020 and can carry 4 passengers.
