5 Major Roads Declared No-Parking Zones in Mumbai

Mumbaikars will currently need to pay and stop at the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation's (BMC) assigned side of the road stopping bayous or at the 26 public parking areas (PPLs) delineated in the city.

The No-Parking Zones in Mumbai

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has scheduled the test project on five important cities streets-Gokhale Road, New Link Road, S V Road, Maharshi Karve Road, and LBS Road. Drivers who park on these streets will be fined up to ₹10,000.

Before long, billboards will be set up, illuminating the closest compensation and parking areas to guarantee the viable execution of the new no-stopping zones, said authorities from the Mumbai Parking Authority (MPA).

The Motive for Selecting these Five Zones

The Mumbai Parking Authority (MPA) said the five streets were picked depending on the situation: major artery streets, business, land use across private and blended-use classifications, stopping request power, street width, and inhabitancies.

  1. Gokhale Road

The no-stopping bunch on Gokhale Road in Dadar will stretch out across one sq. km extending from the LJ Road Junction to Portuguese Church. The bunch will incorporate Dadar and Matunga stations and Shivaji Park. There are three PPLs with a limit of 1,008 vehicles in this bunch.

Assessors saw that 4,000 vehicles were left in the city in this bunch, and the MPA proposed leaving bayous for 1,200 vehicles nearby.

  1. LBS Road

On LBS Road, the no-stopping group will be spread over 1.2 sq. km, extending from Kalpataru to Nirmal Lifestyle. Assessors saw that 1,230 vehicles were left in the city, while the limit of PPLs is 1,552 vehicles in this bunch. The BMC needs to oblige 1,058 vehicles here on the side of the road, leaving straights.

  1. New Link Road

On New Link Road, the no-stopping group stretches out from Oshiwara Park Road to DN Nagar Metro station. The 1.5 sq. km region has significant business retail and office spaces. The pay-and-park office will be permitted on Sundervan Complex Road and Shastri Road. The PPL at RunwalElegante has a limit of 515 vehicles yet has just 14% inhabitance. No side of the road-stopping inlets has been proposed in this group.

  1. SV Road

On SV Road, the no-stopping group will be a stretch of 5.7 sq. km around JP Road, stretching out from Gulmohur Road, Irla Road, LS Road to VP Road. This stretch is a significant business region yet doesn't have any PPLs. Individuals can pay and stop on VM Road, LS Road, and SV Road. Here, 569 sides of the road stopping sounds have been proposed.

  1. Maharshi Karve Road

Maharshi Karve Road will stretch out from Churchgate station to Opera House. This bunch doesn't have PPLs, and individuals can stop on Mathew Street, SV Patel Road, Badod Road, and BabasahebJaykar Marg.

Significance of traffic lights:

Traffic signals are critical devices in guaranteeing smooth traffic progression on the streets. Thus, all the engine vehicle drivers and people on foot should consider them appropriately.

The distinctive kind of traffic signals and their importance is clarified underneath:

  1. The Red Signal:

Assuming a red light is shown, the driver should promptly stop their engine vehicle before the traffic signals. Any effort to go too far when the red light has been shown could bring about genuine traffic risk.

  1. The Golden Signal:

Assuming the golden light is shown, it implies that the driver should turn over his engine vehicle. This traffic signal is a sort of alert sign.

  1. The Green Signal:

Assuming the green light is shown, it implies that the driver is currently permitted to get through the traffic line or intersection. It likewise implies the 'Forward sign.'

The traffic rules are to be trailed by the engine vehicle and vehicle drivers on the streets of Mumbai, or, in all likelihood, a fine will be charged.

The BMC will set up billboards to assist drivers with finding PPLs in their neighbourhood.
