Imagine going on a road trip, and the tires puncture in the middle of nowhere with the spare tire not being available – sounds like a nightmare, right? Before going on a road trip, check the tire pressure and look for recent tread wear, puncture, or cracks. Check the spare tire and make sure that it is in perfect condition; if not, get it replaced immediately. Ensure that the tire pressure is at the recommended level and neither under-inflated nor over-inflated.

Take a quick peek at all the lights in and around the vehicle. Check the headlights and the taillights and ensure they operate at maximum illumination. These lights become crucial while driving through bad weather (fog, mist, rainfall), and it would be a disaster if these lights malfunction at crucial moments. Check the bulbs inside the car and replace them if they don't work properly.

If there are patches of oil under the region where the car was parked, that could be a sign of a leak that needs to be fixed immediately.
