The long-anticipated Mahindra XUV700 has finally made its global debut in India, and the SUV is expected to be launched later this year. It is Mahindra's new flagship model, and possibly one of the most feature-rich ones as well. The official replacement for the existing Mahindra XUV500, the new XUV700 will offer several segment-best features, including the biggest panoramic sunroof in this class. Additionally, Mahindra is also introducing its fully connected car technology Adrenox with the new three-row SUV, which will also be the first model to feature the company's new brand logo. Mahindra is the offering the SUV in MX and Adrenox or AX series.
The more feature packed AX series will be offered in three trim options. Mahindra will also offer a lower-spec MX series
The new Mahindra XUV700 is built on the company's new global SUV platform - W601. In terms of dimensions, the new SUV measures 4695 mm in length, 1890 mm in width, and 1755 mm in height. So, compared to the XUV500 it's 110 mm longer but 30 mm shorter, while the width remains unchanged. The XUV700's wheelbase is also 50 mm longer at 2750 mm. The top-end variant will also come with a set of 18-inch alloy diamond cut wheels, along with disc brakes at all four corners, however, the ones up front are ventilated discs, while the ones at the rear are solid discs.

The XUV700 will come with Mahindra's new logo, a new grille flanked by new LED headlamps and twin C-shaped LED daytime running lights
Visually, the SUV comes with a new black grille featuring long vertical chrome slates and Mahindra's new logo at the centre. The grille is flanked by new LED headlamps with large twin C-shaped LED daytime running lights. The SUV will also come with new flush-fitting door handles, electrically operable ORVMs with integrated turn signals, and flared wheel arches that give it a muscular stance. At the rear, the new XUV700 will come with stylish wraparound LED taillamps, a sculpted tailgate and a beefy bumper cladding with silver faux skid plates.

Inside, the new Mahindra XUV700 will come with a premium, well-laid-out cabin with large comfortable seats with premium upholstery, and a host of smart features. The cabin will come in both 5-seater and 7-seater option. The SUV comes with an extended housing for the two fully digital displays for infotainment and instrumentation, similar to the one on the new Mercedes-Benz cars. Both are 10-inch screens, and the former is equipped with Mahindra's fully connected car technology Adrenox, featuring Amazon Alexa support, an e-SIM, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto among others. The system also comes with a voice command function to control the 3D surround sound system and the panoramic sunroof among others. The SUV also gets a wireless charger.

The new Mahindra XUV700 also comes with multiple driving modes, including 3 pre-set options Zip, Zap, and Zoom
Mahindra is also offering multiple driving modes which include three pre-set options - Zip, Zap, and Zoom, along with a Custom setting. The top-end variant will also come with Advanced Driver Assistance System or ADAS technology, making it the first Mahindra product to get Level 1 autonomous tech. The camera and radar technology is tuned for Indian road conditions. Other safety features will include - 7 airbags, Dynamic Stability Programme (DSP), a 360-degree camera, ISOFIX seat mounts, and more.
Under the hood, the new Mahindra XUV700 will come with a 2.0-litre mStallion turbocharged petrol engine and a 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine offered in two states of tune. The 2.0-litre TGDi petrol engine is tuned to make 197 bhp at 5000 rpm and develops a peak torque of 380 Nm at 1750 to 3000 rpm. The engine comes mated to either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic torque converter unit.

As for the diesel variants, the first option is tuned to churn out 153 bhp at 3750 rpm and develop a peak torque of 360 Nm at 1500 to 2800 rpm, while mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard. There's a more powerful option as well which makes 182 bhp at 3500 rpm. This version is offered with the option of both - a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic torque. While the former offers a peak torque of 420 Nm at 1600 to 2800 rpm, the automatic option, which also comes All-Wheel Drive (AWD), develops 450 Nm at 1750 to 2800 rpm.
