After multiple delays, Ola Electric finally commenced deliveries of the S1 and S1 Pro electric scooters earlier this month. And the company now says that all scooters booked in the first batch have been dispatched from the factory. Bhavish Aggarwal, CEO - Ola Electric confirmed the development in a tweet. He further wrote that while some scooters are in transit, others are currently undergoing RTO registration. Aggarwal also clarified that the registration process took longer than the company anticipated since the "fully digital process is new for all."

While Aggarwal's tweet did not mention the number of scooters delivered in the first batch, a previous tweet did highlight that about 4,000 electric scooters were shipped with more to follow soon. Earlier this year, Ola Electric conveyed that it had received orders for scooters worth Rs. 1,100 crore.
The update does come as a sigh of relief for many customers who have been eagerly waiting to get their hands on the electric scooter. However, some customers who already received the scooter since December 15, 2021, also complained about quality issues. Customers reported problems related to mechanical issues, build quality, as well as range offered on a full charge. The company later said that all problems on the scooters were fixed.

The second purchase window for the Ola S1 scooters will open in late January 2022
The Ola S1 is priced at Rs. 1 lakh while the S1 Pro is priced at Rs. 1.30 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom). The prices could further go down at the time of delivery, depending on state subsidies on EVs across the country. The base S1 offers a top speed of 90 kmph and a claimed range of up to 121 km on a single charge. The S1 Pro offers a top speed of 115 kmph and a claimed range of up to 181 km on a single charge.
