Ampere Vehicles Announces Price Cuts Across Electric Scooter Range In Gujarat

The Ampere Magnus and Zeal electric scooters have seen a price drop of Rs. 27,000, courtesy of the subsidies under the Gujarat EV Policy 2021 and revised FAME II incentives.

Ampere Vehicles, the electric mobility business of Greaves Cotton Limited, has announced a significant price cut on its electric scooters in Gujarat. The revised prices are a result of the announcement of the Gujarat EV Policy 2021 that saw the state government extend incentives on locally made EVs as well as for infrastructure to support the same. With the revision in price cut, even the large scooters from Ampere Electric have become much more affordable and now start under ₹ 50,000.

The Ampere Magnus electric scooter was previously priced at ₹ 74,990, will now be priced at ₹ 47,990 (ex-showroom). Meanwhile, the Ampere Zeal that previously retailed at ₹ 68,990, is now available at ₹ 41,990. Both models are ex-showroom and get a reduction of ₹ 27,000.

Speaking on the new Gujarat EV Policy, Roy Kurian, COO, Ampere Electric, said, "This is an extraordinary move by the Govt to make our well-build electric scooters more affordable & hence within easy access for a common man. Both the Ampere Magnus and Zeal electric scooters are designed for last-mile connectivity. The offerings have a top speed of 55 kmph and a range of 75 km on a single charge. The company says that it has about 80,000 electric vehicle customers so far and around 400 outlets spread across 260 towns and cities across the country. Not just Ampere, other EV players have also announced price cuts on their respective offerings. The subsidies aim to encourage more buyers to bring home EVs.
