Now we agree that these images aren't of HD quality, but these are enough to give us a basic idea as to what the new generation A5 Sportback has to offers. The car gets a whole new front profile but doesn't really stray away from what its predecessor looked. The bonnet is new and curvy with some subtle character lines and is flanked by a pair of sharp headlamps and newly designed LED daytime running lights. It some what closely resembles the one we see on the Mercedes-Benz C-Class, doesn't it? While most part of the grille was camouflaged, we were able to see a hexagonal outline and a new sporty front bumper with large air intakes, so yes, it stays true to its family lineage. Moreover the new Audi A5 Sportback is built on the company's new MLB2 platform, like the new A4, which is expected to make it lighter than its predecessor.

The side profile of the car looks like it has taken some design cues from the A5 coupe, which Audi recently revealed in a new teaser. Although, do remember this one is a four-door and gets new, better looking, sporty alloy wheels and a slightly less sloping roofline. The rear end of the car has also received some new styling in the form of sharper LED tail lamps, new sculpted boot lid, a brawny rear bumper and twin chrome-tipped exhaust pipes instead of two separate ones on each side. The curvy profile of rear section has also been maintained.

Some features that we will see in the new Audi A5 Sportback include - Audi's signature Matrix headlights, virtual cockpit, MMI infotainment, smart interior trim with leather upholstery and Bang & Olufsen surround sound music system among others. The engine options are not confirmed yet but the model that has been imported to India is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine that produces 187bhp and 400 Nm of torque. The car also features the the company's popular Quattro all-wheel drive system.
Apart from the Audi A5 Sportback, the company is also gearing up to launch the next generation A4 and the A3 facelift, both of which are currently being tested in India as well. That said, chances are Audi will launch the latter two first in India before bringing out the A5 Sportback considering the lengthy homologation process.
