Bajaj Auto introduced the Chetak last year and the company did say at the time that the electric scooter platform will spawn more models in the Bajaj-KTM family. It now seems KTM is ready to take the platform forward as the latest spy images of a test mule suggest. The camouflaged electric scooter is surrounded by the Bajaj Chetak but the test offering is distinctly different in appearance and resembles the Husqvarna Vektorr concept showcased earlier this year. Husqvarna is part of the KTM Group and this could be Vektorr heading closer to production.

The Husqvarna Vektorr concept was unveiled in May this year
The camouflaged Husqvarna Vektorr is longer than the Bajaj Chetak, while the different body panels, flat seat, oval rearview mirrors and grab rail also give away its identity. You can also spot the round digital instrument console that could be identical to the Chetak but is likely to pack more features including turn-by-turn navigation. A quick comparison with the concept image in a similar angle further shows the test mule's origins.

While the image does not reveal the front design, expect the Husqvarna Vektorr to stay close to true to the concept sporting a round headlamp with an integrated LED DRL, slim apron and the exposed front fork. Braking performance will come from a front disc and a drum brake setup at the rear.

While unveiling the concept in May this year, Husqvarna said the Vektorr concept is powered by a 4 kW electric motor capable of a top speed of 45 kmph while a claimed range of 95 km on a single charge. It needs to be seen if the same specifications make it to the production model or do we see any improvements. The production-spec Vektorr is likely to be made in India for export markets and could be sold in India as well. However, the international markets are likely to be the priority for KTM and Husqvarna. We do expect more learn more about the Vektorr electric scooter as we get closer to the global launch sometime next year.
