Benelli will be launching their smallest and least expensive motorcycle, the Benelli TNT 25 tomorrow. The Benelli TNT 25 is expected to be the sales driver for Benelli, targeting entry-level performance bike enthusiasts.
The TNT 25 will be the first single cylinder Benelli bike to be sold in India, and is powered by a four-stroke, liquid-cooled 249.2cc engine which makes over 24bhp power and 21Nm of torque. Once launched, the TNT 25 will fight for a slice of the entry-level performance bike segment with the likes of the Honda CBR 250R, KTM Duke 390 and even the Mahindra Mojo.
The Benelli TNT 25 borrows its looks from its larger sibling, the Benelli TNT 300, with muscular naked street looks emphasised by a sculpted fuel tank, stubby side slung exhaust, modern part-digital, part analog instrument panel and sporty split seat. Cycle parts are of high quality too, with multi spoke alloy wheels, upside down front fork and monoshock rear suspension.
The TNT 25 will be brought in as completely knocked down (CKD) kits and assembled in Maharashtra. Although pricing will be announced tomorrow, we expect Motowheels to keep the pricing of the Benelli TNT 25 competitive, between Rs 1.8 lakh to Rs 2 lakh to make it attractive for enthusiasts.
Pune-based Motowheels, in collaboration with Benelli, brings in Benelli superbikes to India as CKD units, assembling them here at Motowheels' plant in Maharashtra. Currently, Benelli sells at least six superbikes in India, ranging from the TNT 300, TNT 600i, TNT 600GT, TNT 899 and the TNT 1130R. Benelli has been focussing on providing world class service to its customers and in this fiscal, the company expects to sell over 4,000 units.
Benelli so far has 14 dealerships across the country. In the second phase of expansion, Benelli is looking at establishing sales and service points at Tier I and Tier II cities like Raipur, Nashik, Nagpur, Mangalore and Mysore.
