Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV), the makers of BharatBenz trucks and buses has unveiled its new customised caravan for the Kerala Tourism Department. The ready-for-road camper van built in collaboration with Autobahn Trucking Dealership and JCBL Group will be used for Kerala's latest initiative, Keravan Kerala. Under the new initiative, the Kerala Tourism Department wants to encourage the camping culture in the state, in line with the post-pandemic travel preferences of tourists. Thus, the department has chosen with BharatBenz to build the luxury camper caravan, which comes with a host of in-built features, and can be hired by tourists.

The luxury caravan comes with all modern amenities like recliner seats, a television, a kitchen area and comfortable double bunk beds

The luxury caravans are built on BharatBenz's 1017 chassis and will be available in two configurations, customised to accommodate two to four travellers. The special creature comforts on offer include a spacious lounge area and modern amenities like recliner seats and a television. It also has a kitchen area that is furnished with all the necessary appliances like a refrigerator, microwave, induction cooktop, and custom-built storage for tableware. The fully air-conditioned caravan also comes with comfortable double bunk beds in the bedroom and a restroom with a shower.

The BharatBenz 1017 is claimed to deliver a comfortable and secure ride thanks to its parabolic suspension, along with a fuel-efficient BS6 engine. The bus chassis' are produced at DICV's state-of-the-art manufacturing plant at Oragadam.
