The Tata Nexon EV arrived in 2020 and has managed to take the passenger vehicle market by storm as a well-packaged electric offering. With central and state subsidies thrown in, the electric SUV turned out to be more accessible and has been a massive hit. The Nexon EV manages to offer the price and performance with the right balance. It's also an electric offering that's now two years old and we finally have examples rolling out in the used car market. Yes, there aren't plenty but you do find some attractive deals. 1. The Tata Nexon EV was launched in 2020 and is the fastest car in the automaker's stable. The car is fairly powerful with 127 bhp and 245 Nm of peak torque available. 0-100 kmph comes up in 9.58 seconds but the top speed is restricted to 120 kmph.
2. The Nexon EV comes up regenerative braking that helps charge the battery and extend the range by a small margin. That said, Tata claims a range of the 312 km on a single charge (ARAI certified). The real-world range, however, is around 230-250 km depending on your driving style and consumption.

3. The Tata Nexon EV gets fast charging capability and can be charged up to 80 per cent in 60 minutes using a fast charger. It also comes with iRA connected car technology that brings over 35 connected features.
4. Early adopters of the Tata Nexon EV did report a number of problems on the initial models. This included the car going into neutral from drive mode on its own. There were also reports of the battery discharging quickly, which was fixed with a software update. Certain customers also complained about the car going to limp mode, something that was also fixed with a BMS update.
5. While a new Tata Nexon EV is priced attractively, it's still fairly on the expensive end. That said, the used Nexon EVs aren't exactly cheap either. Most 2020 examples are listed for Rs. 14-16 lakh for the top-end Lux variant. In contrast, a brand new Nexon EV XM variant is priced around Rs. 16 lakh, going up to about Rs. 18.50 lakh (all prices, on-road Delhi) for the top-end Lux variant. However, a lot of these cars have also been driven just about 5,000-6,000 km over even less. Cars with more km on the odometer are more attractively priced. The Nexon EV with over 30,000 km will cost you about Rs. 13 lakh in the used car space.
