I'd be lying if I said the FIFA World Cup madness hasn't rubbed off on me despite the work schedule and the lazying around I like to indulge in. The excitement has been tremendous; the 'flying Dutchman', Costa Rica beating Uruguay, Switzerland winning the match in stoppage time, and so on and so forth. You get my drift? Anyway, continuing from where we left off the last time, here are the other 5 players from our list of the top 10 footballers in the world and the cars that adorn their respective garages.
1. Luis Suarez: Not much is known about Liverpool player Luis Suarez's car collection, but with an estimated net worth of $40 million, we are guessing he must own a handful of them at least.
However, after being handed a ban of 10 games after his 'bitegate' incident with Chelsea player Branislav Ivanovic, Suarez was spotted getting around in a jet black BMW X5. The midsize luxury SUV comes with a starting price of $52,800.
2. Mario Balotelli: I am pretty sure you have figured out by now that footballers love their cars as much as they love their women, if not more.
Italian superstar Mario Balotelli is no different, except he seems to love the bling much more than the others. Super Mario has no qualms in shelling out millions on extravagant cars, which has led him to owning a garage full of cars that makes the world go green with envy.
His collection is worth $1,123,433 and comprises of the following cars:
a. Audi R8 V10
b. Maserati GranTurismo MC Stradale
c. Bentley Continental SuperSport
d. Ferrari 458 Spider
3. Cesc Fabregas: Though we can't seem to put a finger on Cesc Fabregas's net worth, we have come to the conclusion that he is quite the rich Spaniard.
With an estimated net worth of somewhere between $15 - 19 million, Fabregas does not seem to fancy cars as much as his women. Yet, he owns a car or two that figure on the list of cars that I am fond of. He owns an Audi R8 Coupe, and apparently a Ferrari 458 Italia too, thus taking the total up to $348,409.
A Mercedes-Benz SL55 AMG would have figured in this list too, but he wrecked the $113,000 car in an accident in 2011.
4. Robin van Persie: It feels like footballers can never be complete without their cars, such is their love.
And when you are a multi-millionaire Dutch footballer who plays for Manchester United, what else do you do but buy expensive cars? The Flying Dutchman's bulging stable includes a Porsche Panamera, a Porsche Cayenne Techart Magnum 2007, a BMW X5, a Land Rover Range Rover Sport, a Audi S5 Sportback Sportline, and a retro Nissan Figaro.
His collection's estimated worth is about $544,320.
5. Andres Iniesta: Turns out, this Spaniard is rather secretive, at least in terms of his cars.
Though there is no definitive list of Iniesta's cars, he has been spotted driving different cars, including a Bugatti Veyron, a handful of times. Though some claim that Iniesta owns the Veyron, some say he was only testing it. The FC Barcelona player has also been spotted in an Audi A7.
That said, if these rumours are to be believed, Iniesta's two cars cost him about $2,614,500.
