Delhi government has announced that it will offer 33 faceless Road Transport Office (RTO) services in the state. This means that citizens won't need to pay a visit at the RTO offices for these services. Services like registration for driving licences, registration certificates and permit-related services among others of its transport department can be done online now. The move also helps in limiting physical contact and maintaining social distancing which is the need of the hour, in these pandemic times. The online services also include duplicate driving licence, change in address, new conductor licence, registration certificate, NOC, industrial driving permit, DL replacement, road tax, RC particular, insurance NOC, fresh permit for goods vehicle, permit renewal, duplicate permit, transfer permit, surrender permit, permit transfer and passenger service vehicle badge among others.

Commenting on the announcement, Rajesh Menon, Director General, Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) said, "SIAM welcomes Delhi Government's unique initiative to introduce 33 'faceless services' including learner's license, registration certificate, NOC, industrial driving permit and other transport services. This will improve further process transparency, time, efficiency and customer satisfaction. The move has come aptly at a time when social distancing is of utmost importance."

With the launch of these online services four zonal transport offices located in Vasant Vihar, Janakpuri, IP Estate and Sarai Kale Khan will remain closed. The work of these four regional offices will now be executed from motor licensing offices (MLO) situated at Raja Garden, South Zone and Dwarka. To avail the benefits of the online services launched by the Delhi Government all you need in your Aadhaar card to apply on the site. After opening the form one will have to enter personal details and give a self-declaration of his or her physical fitness. With the submission of the form the applicant will receive an application number via SMS. Those applying for a learning licence, an online test consisting of 20 questions will be conducted where the questions asked will be related to road safety and traffic signs. Applicants receiving six or more marks out of 10 will be considered passed. The candidate will further need to pass the physical fitness test as well.
