Ducati have unveiled the DraXster concept at the Motor Bike Expo in Verona. The draXster is a drag-racing concept based on the XDiavel which was unveiled at the EICMA show in Milan last November.

The Ducati draXster concept has been developed by the Advanced Design arm of the Ducati Design Centre, a section dedicated to exploring the future style and design concepts of Ducati motorcycles. The ideas and sketches have resulted in the draXster, built on a standard production XDiavel.

Ducati says the draXster concept interprets the XDiavel world from a "sports viewpoint". With looks purpose-built for the drag strip, the draXster sports a minimalist body and elongated wheelbase. The sporty stance is thanks to the suspension and brakes off the Panigale superbike. There's a Termignoni exhaust, and the wheels are also different, wearing a fatter slick rear wheel.

Clip-on handlebars, extreme rear-set foot controls, Pirelli drag slick tyres and Brembo brakes complete the drag-racer look of the draXster. The number 90 on the side of the Ducati draXster pays homage to Ducati's 90th anniversary. The Italian brand was founded in 1926, when it began producing radio components. It was much later though, after World War II, that Ducati actually began producing motorcycles.
