Toyota has unveiled the Rumion MPV for the Indian market. The vehicle is essentially a rebadged version of the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, and has been available overseas for a while now. It features the same 1.5 litre K series petrol engine, and also looks the same as the Maruti, for the most part. The MPV will be available in three main trims: S (manual and automatic), G and V (manual and automatic), and will also be offered in CNG guise. While Toyota will only announce the prices of the Rumion in the coming days, expect it to be priced similarly to the Ertiga, which starts at Rs 8.64 lakh and goes up to Rs 13.08 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom) for the top-end variant.

The Rumion looks almost exactly the same as its sister car, the Ertiga, save for a new grille and an updated front bumper.
Leaving aside a few styling bits such as a new grille and an updated front bumper, the Rumion features the exact same design as its sister car, the Ertiga. The interior layout is also carried over from the Ertiga and features a freestanding 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment display atop the dashboard with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. In terms of safety features, the car gets Hill Hold Assist, ABS with EBD & Brake Assist, Front Seat Pretensioner, along with dual front and side seat airbags.

The interior layout of the Rumion is carried over from the Ertiga and features a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system.
Coming to the powertrain, the car is equipped with a 1.5 litre petrol engine which makes a peak power output of 101 bhp at 6,000 rpm and peak torque of 136.8 Nm at 4,400 rpm. In the CNG variant, the engine makes a lower power output of 86.6 bhp at 5,500 rpm along with torque figures of 121.5 Nm at 4,200 rpm. The petrol-powered version of the car is offered with both, a 6-speed automatic and 5-speed manual transmission, while the CNG version is solely available with the manual gearbox. The company claims that the MPV can average 20.51 km/litre in the petrol variant, and 26.11 km/kg in the CNG variant.
This is the third rebadged Suzuki model that Toyota has added to its India lineup after the Baleno-based Glanza hatchback and the now-discontinued Brezza-based Urban Cruiser. As part of Suzuki and Toyota's global alliance, Toyota is also supplying the Innova Hycross to Maruti to be sold as the Invicto, and the two companies have also co-developed the Grand Vitara and Urban Cruiser Hyryder compact SUVs.
