This week, FIA is holding discussions into the controversial end of the 2021 Abu Dhabi GP. However, the findings of the investigation may not be disclosed, and FIA will reveal the planned changes following the investigation on last year's concluding events in a few days. The new FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem met with the Red Bull Team Principal Christian Horner & Mercedes Team Principal Toto Wolff ahead of the F1 Commission meeting, but it doesn't sound like much was concluded.
Even though FIA stood by Michael Masi's decisions in the 2021 Abu Dhabi GP, FIA has hinted at making 'structural changes'. This doesn't certainly mean that Michael Masi may lose his role as the Race Director of F1, but it could mean that FIA may be looking to add supporting staff to the Race Control. This role could be taken over by WEC race director Eduardo Freitas, or former DTM race director Niels Wittich. FIA is also considering being remotely involved over the decisions of the Race Control and relieving them of some of the pressure of the situation.

"The information will be announced but definitely, as we say, the integrity of the FIA will always be intact. I'm elected to do that but also to have fair motorsport. That's my duty", said the newly appointed President of the FIA, Mohammed Ben Sulayem.

We could also see a set of rule changes, especially concerning safety car periods and restarts, but we may be left to guess until FIA decides to make an official announcement which could be as late as the start of the 2022 season in March.
Along with these discussions, following the 2-lap Belgian GP of last year, FIA also announced the new points system for shortened races, with 4 different systems depending on how much of the race is completed.
