The much-awaited Fiat Avventura crossover was finally launched in India today. Priced between Rs 5.99 lakh and Rs 8.17 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the Avventura takes on the likes of Volkswagen Cross Polo and Toyota Etios Cross. Though the vehicle doesn't compete directly against the Ford EcoSport, at this price point it can attract buyers looking for the EcoSport and are fed-up of the long waiting period involved.
Since the Avventura is based on the Punto hatchback, it shares its design, features and components with the latter. However, with additional features like roof rails, rear-mounted spare wheel, side-cladding, 205mm ground clearance, 16-inch alloy wheels, there is no denying that the Avventura is the rugged version of the hatchback.

With premium upholstery, contrast stitching and added-features, the Avventura's cabin also looks much sportier than that of the Punto Evo. Moving on to the engine options, the Avventura is powered by the same 1.4-litre FIRE petrol and 1.3-litre multijet diesel engines that are also found under the hatchback's hood. Producing 89bhp and 115Nm, the petrol mill is claimed to return 14.4Km/l, whereas the diesel mill, with 92bhp and 209Nm, returns an impressive 20.5Km/l.
Available in 3 trims, namely, Active, Dynamic and Emotion, the Avventura comes in a total of 5 variants (2 petrol and 3 diesel).
