The first image of the 2016 Toyota Innova has officially been released in Indonesia ahead of its global debut at the 2015 Jakarta Motor Show on November 23. Toyota Indonesia tweeted the picture, which displays the front fascia of the MPV.

Details of its launch in India are still sketchy but there are reports that Toyota will showcase the Innova at the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo in February.
India's best-selling MPV is built on the Toyota New Global Architecture (TMGA) platform, which will make it lighter and more responsive than the previous model.
The front-end of the 2016 Toyota Innova has been reworked with a big hexagonal grill which houses two thick chrome slats, giving the car an aggressive look if you face it head on. The redesigned headlamp units house LED daytime-running lamps in the Indonesian spec and we hope the India-bound versions are equipped with the same.
The side profile of the new Innova is also more muscular with sculpted lines.
The Innova will be powered by the brand-new GD series engines from Toyota and automatic transmission variants will be available for both diesel and petrol units.
The diesel will be a 2.4-litre GD four-cylinder unit with VNT Intercooler, while the petrol is a 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine with Dual VVT-i. Buyers can make a choice between a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic for both engine options.
The new Toyota Innova is likely to offer its intelligent key and push-button start feature in its higher trims. The dual-tone dashboard has been heavily reworked and seems a lot sleeker with chrome-finish accents.
The interior of the Innova is dominated by a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system which features voice command recognition, Bluetooth, AUX and SD card support. The infotainment system in the higher-end trims are likely to get a better infotainment console with HDMI input and Miracast Wi-Fi support along with internet browsing facility.
A cooled glovebox and a telescopic steering with tilt function will be offered across all variants.
Again, it remains to be seen if Toyota decides to bring all of these goodies to India.
As far as safety features are concerned, the top-end variant will be equipped with a total of seven airbags, while the base version will get dual front airbags. The new Innova may also get stability control and hill-start assist standard across all trims.
So, it looks like Toyota has been busy and the results show with the new Innova getting significant changes to its engines, exterior and interior. However, these new features also mean that the price of the MPV will probably be increased by a bit, although we don't know the specifics yet.
