We've all seen the Quant e-Sportlimousine at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show and NanoFlowcell is now bringing out the redesigned Quant F. The car is all set to make a world premiere at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show on March 3.
It's a bit difficult to differentiate between the Quant E and the F but nanoFlowcell admit that the F is a completely re-engineered and re-designed version of the Quant E. The only visible differences on the outside include the different color scheme, bigger door mirrors, the wheel design and the new headlamp fixtures that contain back-lit crystals that project a "Q" when switched on.
The Quant F features two gullwing doors that open up to seat four passengers. The car is longer than a Mercedes-Benz S-Class at 5,257mm. The Quant F gets a newly developed monocoque made of carbon fibre with a narrower A-pillar which adds to the space inside the car.
NanoFlowcell says it has updated the Quant F's all-electric powertrain with a new 2-speed automatic transmission developed in-house. The transmission works with four improved electric motors, one for each wheels and produces 1075bhp for a limited time, a notable increase over the previous model's 912bhp.
The four motors offer the Quant F permanent 4x4 all-wheel drive, though it can be converted automatically into rear-wheel drive during high speeds or acceleration. The electric power comes from the company's own flow cell battery storage technology that works like a combination of a battery and a fuel cell using liquid electrolytes.
With a total tank capacity of 500 liters, comprising two times 250 liters in two tanks accommodated separately in the QUANT's substructure. This gives the car a range of 800kms on a full charge. Top speed is said to be in the range of 300km/h and that is quite an achievement considering that there are zero emissions. We will know more about the car when it's unveiled at the Geneva Motor show.
