Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) has announced a voluntary recall on three of its scooters in the country. The recall extends to the new Honda Grazia, Aviator, and Activa 125 scooters and involves a faulty front suspension component. Honda said that the recall affects a total of 56,194 units of these models. The manufacturer will be voluntarily inspecting the affected scooters and if required, will replace the suspected quality part. The recall does not affect the popular selling Honda Activa 4G or the new Activa 5G scooters in the company's line-up.
The issue has been identified as excessive hardness in bolt flange (10x42) mounted in the front fork. As a precautionary measure, Honda will be inspecting the affected models manufactured between February 7 and March 16, 2018. The two-wheeler manufacturer confirmed that the faulty part, if required, will be replaced free of cost on the recall vehicles irrespective of the scooter's warranty status.

Honda through its dealers will directly notify the affected customers for inspection of their vehicle. Customers too can check if their vehicle falls under the recall campaign by submitting their Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) on the dedicated section on the company's official website. Customers can also book a service appointment in advance to change the faulty component, to avoid any inconvenience or waiting in the queue.
Both the Honda Activa 125 and Grazia are 125 cc scooters, and are popular offerings for the manufacturer. The Honda Aviator, meanwhile is a 110 cc offering. Honda has not identified how many individual units of the three scooters have been affected in the recall. The Honda Aviator 110 is priced between Rs. 52,796-57,137, while the Honda Activa 125 is priced between the 57,633-62,005. The Honda Grazia is the bike maker's newest launch and is priced from Rs. 58,133, going up to Rs. 62,505 (all prices, ex-showroom Delhi).
