The new electronic toll collection system introduced by the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) makes use of Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) for allowing you to make toll payments directly from your prepaid or savings account. As we just said, in case you have sold your vehicle and transferred its paperwork to another person's name, you need to get your old FASTag deactivated/closed immediately. Otherwise, that person can exploit your FASTag and make payments that will get deducted from your account. Plus, until and unless you close your FASTag account, the new owner of your car won't be able to register for their own FASTag account.
