Designed, built and engineered in Europe, Hyundai has launched the new i20 Turbo Edition in the UK with prices starting at 12,975 Pounds (around Rs.11.33 lakh).

Designed, built and engineered in Europe, Hyundai has launched the new i20 Turbo Edition in the UK with prices starting at 12,975 Pounds (around Rs.11.33 lakh). The new special edition version of the model pays tribute to Hyundai's new and compact 1.0-litre three-cylinder, turbocharged, petrol engine that has turned out to be quite popular for the company in recent times. Interestingly, the special edition is a good 1050 Pounds (around Rs. 91,000) cheaper than the standard i20 SE variant, while offering more features for less money. Hyundai i20 Turbo Edition Keeping up with the name, the new Hyundai i20 Turbo Edition is available only with the 1.0-litre turbo engine option that produces 99bhp of power at 4500rpm and 171Nm of torque between 1500-4000rpm. The motor comes paired to a 5-speed manual transmission. The Korean car maker's new downsized petrol engine is high on saving returning a fuel efficiency of 22.22 km/l, while CO2 emissions are limited to 104 g/km. In terms of features, the Hyundai i20 Turbo Edition is based on the SE trim and is loaded with Bluetooth connectivity, DAB digital radio, cruise control with speed limiter, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio and phone controls as standard. In addition, the special edition adds a rear-view camera, automatic lights with dusk sensor, 7-inch touchscreen system with navigation and automatic wipers. Furthermore, Hyundai is offering satellite navigation upgrade with the i20 Turbo Edition as owners in the UK will receive free seven-year TomTom Live Services subscription, along with speed camera alerts, weather updates, and live point of interest notifications. Hyundai i20 Turbo Edition Interior While Volkswagen already offers the turbocharged 1.2-litre TSI petrol motor on the Polo GT, Maruti Suzuki will be coming out with the Baleno RS later this year powered by the new 1.0-litre BoosterJet engine. Fiat and Ford offer turbocharged engines on their small cars in India. Hyundai is the only premium hatchback maker to not offer a performance version and the 1.0-litre i20 could make for an interesting proposition.
