Hyundai Tucson is all set to go on sale in India next week, on 14th November. The car has been one of the most anticipated models that are to be launched in the country this year and it will be positioned between the Creta and the Hyundai's flagship SUV Santa Fe. With just days away from the launch, the upcoming Hyundai Tucson was recently spotted at what appears to be a dealership yard, indicating its imminent arrival. Upon its launch in India, the car will go up against the likes of Honda CR-V, Skoda Yeti, and SsangYong Rexton and we expect it to carry a sticker price of anything between Rs. 20 lakh to Rs. 25 lakh (ex-showroom).
The Tucson nameplate is not new to the Indian market as the first-generation model came to India back in 2005 before it was discontinued in 2010 due to slumping sales. Now seeing the recent surge in demand for premium SUVs and sedans, Hyundai feels that it is the right time to tap into this growing segment. And the success of the new Elantra has been a major example.

Now we have already seen the new-generation Hyundai Tucson at the 2016 Auto Expo. The SUV is built on the company's Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design philosophy and comes with a stylish exterior profile further accentuated by the sharp character lines. Moreover, similar to Hyundai current models, the new Tucson comes with an imposing hexagonal grille with chrome slats along with stylish sweptback headlamps, sloping roofline, a sporty bumper, and wrap-around LED taillights to go along with its rugged profile. Word has it that Hyundai aims to achieve 50 per cent localisation for the Tucson.

Though the company is yet to confirm the details about the engine line-up, the 2016 Hyundai Tucson is likely to be offered with a 2.0-litre diesel engine in two states of tune. The engine develops 134bhp and 181bhp and will get both, a 6-speed manual and automatic gearbox as transmission options like the Creta.
