Indian motorcycles were one of the most successful manufacturers in flat-track racing from 1920s to 1950s. Now after a hiatus of over 60 years, the American manufacturer is eyeing to get back in the American Motorcycle Association's Pro Flat Track Series in the upcoming season. The AMA Pro Flat Track is one of the toughest and most demanding racing series in America and sees a lot of bar-to-bar action and requires great motorcycle control on a variety of dirt surfaces. Indian motorcycles have specially developed a new 750cc liquid-cooled, V-Twin engine which has been specifically designed for flat-track racing. The company has also built a new chassis where the engine can be fitted. The company has a rich history in flat track racing where legendary names such as Bill Tuman, Bobby Hill and Ernie Beckman won a lot of races on erstwhile Indian Scout.

He has won multiple trophies in Flat Track racing over the last few years and will be making sure that the motorcycle is ready this year before it debuts in next year's full season.

Some of the current participating motorcycles in the AMA Pro Flat Track racing are Kawasaki Ninjas, Yamaha FZ07s, Ducati Hypermotards and Harley-Davidson Street 750s. It would surprise you to know that Harley-Davidson has been winning the title for the past six years and now, Indian motorcycles is doing everything it can to take the fight to Harley-Davidson in the next season.
