The final day of Round 3 of the 19th JK-FMSCI National Racing Championship (JKNRC) had some spectacular races as the JK Touring Cars, Euro JK 16 and LGB Formula 4 series grew closer to the end of the championship in this penultimate round. With some high speed overtakes and crashes, it was a high octane Sunday for those present at the Kari Motor Speedway in Coimbatore with Anindith Reddy, Vishnu Prasad and Ashish Ramaswamy taking the pole in their respective categories.
Euro JK 16 National Racing Championship
Starting with the most exciting of all, the Euro JK 16 series saw Anindith Reddy emerge as the star taking pole in both races of the day. The Hyderabad lad was in great form right from qualifying on Saturday and managed maintain the same over the weekend. Anindith ended up winning as many as three races and picked up a hefty 38 points, giving him the much needed to push towards the championship title.
Anindith and Ananth with 76 points, lead with a tie, Nayan follows 3rd with 73 points.
Sunday morning saw him finish second in the first race, with Karthik Tharani managing to grab the pole, but the second race saw him back on top of the leader board. Meanwhile, Ananth Shanmugam at his defensive best in the races and grabbed the podium as well, along with Anindith in majority of the races. The Bangalore-based driver added an overall 28 points against his name and sits alongside Anindith with 76 points, making for a tie.
Round 3 Euro JK 16 Winners
Round 3 of the JKNRC, however, wasn't the brightest for Nayan Chatterjee, who had been the series leader with 73 points. After a disappointing Saturday, Nayan faced a collision in the first race of Sunday that damaged his wing, pushing him to 4th in Race 1 of Sunday. The second race saw the Mumbai-based driver getting a DNF due to the damage. Overall, he could garner only 15 points in Round 3. Having lost crucial points over the weekend, Nayan now sits third in the championship title with 73 points behind Anindith and Ananth.
Round 3 LGB Formula 4 Winners
Moving to the LGB Formula 4 series, it was Vishnu Prasad of Meco Racing at his dominant best and replicated his winning streak from Saturday in both races of Sunday as well. That said, Vishnu did face massive competition from teammate Raghul Rangasamy, who pushed him till the end being just 0.23 seconds behind the Chennai driver. The first race of the series saw Rohit Khanna of Dark Don Racing take the second spot on the podium while Raghul was pushed to third, while both drivers swapped places in the second race as Vishnu continued to take the pole.
With hat-trick wins over the weekend, Vishnu leads the LGB Formula 4 series comfortably with 66 points, while Raghul, who added a good 22 points to his bag stands second in the championship with an overall 51 points. Meanwhile, Saran Vikram of Pravateer sits third with 37 points, whereas Rohit Khanna, after an exciting Sunday sits a close fourth with 35 points.
Ashish remains at the top of the JK Touring Cars
In the JK Touring Cars series, it was undoubtedly Ashish Ramaswamy of Red Rooster Performance all the way to the pole all races of the weekend. The Bangalore-based driver has been at his dominant best since the start of the season and has won all six races in the series gaining a massive lead with 120 points. While Ashish was undeterred from the top, veteran drivers Radha Selvarajan of Rad Racing finished a close second, followed by Deepak Paul of Race Concepts finishing third.

If the action on track wasn't enough, spectators were in for a special treat as renowned stunt driver and world record holder Terry Grant was there too to entice the crowds. The UK based stunt man amazed the audiences with burnouts, drifts, power slides and his trademark move - driving on only the two ride side wheels.

Terry's performance was the perfect icing on the cake for what was a specaular weekend, which only makes things all the more exciting for final round of the 19th JK-FMSCI National Racing Championship that will be held at the Buddh International Circuit (BIC) in November. With such close fights to watch out for, things are going be extremely hot next next month.
