The Gulf Supercross was conducted for the first time in Nashik and enthusiasts and bikers from all over the country turned up at the track to showcase their talent on the dirt track. The competition saw 96 participants negotiating hairpin bends, steep jumps and obstacles over dirt terrain, all at breakneck speed.
The riders jumped across 12 steep jumps and a sped through a table top stretch which proved challenging. Nashik Police Commissioner Kulwant Kumar Sarangal flagged off the event, as the riders leaped across every obstacle that came their way. Finally, it was Banglore rider Harith Noah, astride on his TVS RTR who won the Indian Expert Foreign class, for motorcycles upto 500cc, beating back a stiff challenge from his TVS Racing teammates Aravind and Joshua.
Aarvind came back with a vengeance as he picked up top honours in the second race of the same category. Having shared the top place with Noah in the overall standings for Indian Expert Foreign Class, motorcycles upto 500cc, Aravind won the Indian Expert Classs upto 260 cc, taking both the motos. Joshua placed second, with Natraj and S Madhu, also of TVS Racing, sharing third place in the overall standings.
Nagpur's Jignesh Patel won the Private Foreign motorcycles 250cc class astride a KTM SXF, while Aurangabad's Aakash Satpude won the Private Expert upto 260cc class riding his TVS Apache.
