Lamborghini has rolled out its 20,000th Huracan, an STO bound for the Principality of Monaco. The carmaker achieved the milestone number eight years after the V10 supercar went into production back in 2014. Over its production run Lamborghini went on to launch 12 road-going variants of the Huracan and Huracan Evo along with three derivatives for the racetrack.
“The Huracán has delivered an evolution of design, technological know-how, driving adventures, track records and sales records since its launch. It was designed as a car to provide super sports emotion in every environment, from daily driving to thrilling performance on track,” said Automobili Lamborghini Chairman and CEO Stephan Winkelmann.

Lamborghini said that most of the demand for the Huracan came from the United States, UK and China. The US accounted for about 32 percent of all units delivered over the past eight years. The demand for the coupe was also significantly higher with only 29 percent of sales for the open-top derivative.
The Huracan Coupe accounted for 71 percent of global demand.
The Huracan first arrived on the scene in 2014 with the all-wheel-drive LP610-4 coupe followed by the lower-powered rear-wheel-drive LP 580-2 and the LP610-4 Spyder the following year. 2016 saw the arrival of the more performance-focused Performante and the open-top sibling to the LP 580-2 coupe.
The V10 supercar received a facelift in 2019 with the new Huracan Evo also going on sale in all-wheel drive and rear-wheel drive coupe and convertible body styles. The next big additions came in 2021 and 2022 with the debut of the track-focused STO and the recently revealed Huracan Technica.
Coming to India, Lamborghini's sales have, in recent years, seen an uptick, particularly with the launch of the Urus SUV. The carmaker delivered its 400th car in India earlier this year having hit the 300-unit mark just last September. The Urus by itself has seen over 100 deliveries in the country since its launch in 2018. Lamborghini's SUV is the carmaker's fastest-selling model across the globe with 16,000 units delivered from the time of its launch in 2018 till end-2021.
