The Lamborghini Urus is one of the most potent SUVs money can buy, as far as the super SUV segment goes. The 641 bhp of sheer power on tap from the 4.0-litre V8 is enough to catapult this 2,199 kg mammoth ship to 100 kmph from zero in less than 3.6 seconds, making it one of the quickest SUVs in the market. It is also one of the most sold SUVs from the brand in the recent past, but the news of it going electric will undoubtedly break the internet.
The Lamborghini Urus at 5,021 units was the bestselling model.

Yes! At least according to Mitja Borkert, Head of Design for Lamborghini. In a recent interaction with a publication, Borkert first confirmed the arrival of an electric Urus, but later took back his words and refuted the development altogether.
In a media event, Borkert said, “[Electric cars are] the future, be we must decide when, in which market, and in the segments, it makes sense. Our interpretation is that probably the more versatile and daily use cars such as the Urus – for sure, will be the first fully electrified compared to the pure supersport cars. Sooner or later the Urus will be going to electric … to be honest, the regulations in the world and the social acceptance – the trend is going in this way for sure.”
Lamborghini Urus can go from 0-100 kmph in less than 3.6 seconds.

However, Borkert was quick to dismiss the timeframe for the electric Urus and said, “I'm not saying right now that the Urus successor is going electric, but for these kinds of cars electrification makes more sense.” Clearly, Borkert and Lamborghini want to keep things under wraps and only reveal when there's development to the plans, however, it does point at the direction it wants to take with the Super SUV and its eventual descendant.
