Electric mobility charging solutions provider, Magenta Mobility has announced a collaboration with Amazon India. As part of the tie-up, the Mumbai-based company will work with the global giant to induct a fleet of electric vehicles - both two- and four-wheelers - for its delivery partners. Magenta Mobility will also provide charging solutions for the same as part of the collaboration. The partnership is part of Amazon India's vision to induct 10,000 EVs into its fleet by 2025. The e-commerce player has a global commitment to inducting 100,000 EVs into its fleet by 2030. While Amazon has tied up with a number of EV players globally including Rivian, this would be its first such association in India.

Speaking on the partnership, Maxson Lewis, Founder, and MD - Magenta Mobility said, "The collaboration between Amazon and Magenta is a welcome step, which reaffirms Amazon India's significant progress in the electric mobility industry. This launch in Hyderabad is a continuation of our collaboration with Amazon that started in Bengaluru and will help transform a significant number of Amazon's last-mile delivery fleet to EVs and encourage the e-commerce industry to decarbonise last-mile logistics; actively."
Magenta will also be providing charging solutions to Amazon India with operations set to begin in Hyderabad, home to the e-commerce giant

With the induction of EVs in its fleet, Amazon aims to fulfil The Climate Pledge - a commitment to achieve net-zero carbon by 2040, 10 years ahead of the Paris Agreement. The partnership with Magenta aims to help the manufacturer achieve that goal faster and operate more sustainably. India is one of the most lucrative e-commerce markets and the numbers are only expected to grow to fuel the demand for last-mile delivery solutions.
