The Mahindra Alturas G4 SUV will mark the Indian automaker's entry in the premium SUV segment and the model is all set to be launched in the country on November 24, 2018. Mahindra's most expensive offering yet, the Alturas G4 is a hotly anticipated product and we now have more details emerging about the all-new SUV. Keeping a premium position for the model, the Mahindra Alturas G4 will be offered only in n automatic avatar at the time of launch and there won't be a manual option. Pre-bookings have begun for a token amount of Rs. 50,000 while the car will arrive at dealerships only by November 26, two days after the launch.

The Mahindra Alturas G4 will be offered in two variants - 2WD AT and 4WD AT with additional features. Both versions will draw power from the 2.2-litre turbo diesel engine that is likely to churn out about 183 bhp. We also know that the SUV will be offered in four colour options - New Pearl White, Napoli Black, Lakeside Brown, and Dsat Silver - All of which will be available on both trims.
The Mahindra Alturas will compete in a segment with SUVs in the range of Rs. 25-35 lakh (ex-showroom), and an aggressive pricing is expected on the model. With only the automatic variant on offer, prices can be expected to start around the Rs. 25 lakh (ex-showroom) mark, which will still mean it will undercut most of its competition.

The Mahindra Alturas is the SsangYong Rexton G4 underneath, but has been tweaked to meet the demands of the Indian market. The SUV will be loaded on features, compete with dual-zone climate control, touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, electric sunroof, electrically adjustable front seats, full LED headlamps, nine airbags, ABS with EBD and more.

With the Alturas G4, Mahindra will also change its approach towards customers at dealerships. With a dedicated display area, lounge and virtual reality product presentations, the company will be taking a more premium and upmarket approach when it comes to selling its new flagshi SUV. The Alturas nameplate is also one of the few from Mahindra that does not end with an 'O'.
