The Mahindra S101 will be the third sub-4 meter vehicle to be launched by Mahindra, after the Quanto and TUV300, and the carmaker is claiming it to be a compact SUV as well. That being said, we find it a little bit odd, especially considering the fact that S101 looks more like a hatchback or a crossover rather than a compact SUV.

Over the last few months, the new Mahindra S101 has been spied on numerous occasions giving us some or the other detail about the car. The spy images have revealed that the S101 will come with features like features like LED Daytime Running Lights, muscular character lines, sporty bumper and much more. Now the latest teaser confirms some of these features like the stylish L-shaped DRLs, the muscular silhouette and some sharp accents around the bumper line.

Coming to the car itself, the S101, like the Mahindra XUV500, has been built on the Monocoque chassis and comes with front wheel drive architecture. Under the hood the car is likely to be powered by an all-new 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine and a 1.5-litre mHawk80 diesel motor, which is the same one used in the Mahindra TUV300. Transmission options could include a five-speed manual and probably an AMT unit.
