Mahindra Set to Increase TUV300 Production to Meet Demand

According to reports, Mahindra plans to increase monthly production to 5,500-6,000 units till February and then revise their figures again based on the demand. The carmaker had started with a monthly production of around 4,000 units at the time of launch.
The sub-four metre Mahindra TUV300 SUV is powered by a 1.5-litre, 3-cylinder, mHawk80 diesel engine, which churns out 82.5bhp of power and 230Nm of torque. The engine is paired to either a five-speed manual or an automatic transmission.
The TUV300 is the first SUV in its segment to get an AMT gearbox in India and is quite a hit with car buyers. Of the 15,500 bookings, around 40-45 per cent of them are for the automatic transmission variant.
Launched at Rs 6.9 lakh to Rs 9.12 lakh (ex-showroom, Pune), the TUV 300 is priced Rs 1 lakh lower than the Ford EcoSport and about Rs 1.5 lakh lower than the Renault Duster.
