Mahindra is set to reveal its new all-electric subcompact SUV ahead of the world EV day. Named the Mahindra XUV400, the electric subcompact SUV is based on the ICE powered XUV300. Ahead of its reveal on September 8, Mahindra has dropped another teaser of the XUV400 on its social media handles.

The teaser video gives us a glimpse of the lights of the XUV400, along with the twin peaks logo. While not much is shown in the teaser, earlier spy shots have given us a fair idea of what to expect. The model is expected to be larger than four metres, considering EVs do not fall under the sub 4-metre tax bracket. This should give the model an edge over rivals while bringing a sizeable boot over the XUV300.

With respect to the powertrain, the Mahindra XUV400's electric motor is expected to belt out about 150 bhp, while the model could get two different battery options to choose from. The range is expected to be in excess of 450 km on a single charge. The XUV400 is expected to be positioned between the Tata Nexon EV and the MG ZS EV, while it's likely to be on par with the Nexon EV Max in terms of performance and pricing.

Mahindra is yet to announce details on the features but expect a lot of the features from the XUV300 to make it here as well. We could see upgrades in the form of a digital instrument console and possibly a bigger touchscreen infotainment unit too. It'll be interesting to see if the XUV400 arrives with ADAS.
