The 2022 Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 has been launched in India with ex-showroom prices starting at Rs. 3.99 lakh for the base trim and going up to Rs. 5.83 lakh for the range-topping automatic variant. It is underpinned by Maruti Suzuki's modular Heartect platform and has seen a significant upgrade in its design, interiors, creature comforts and powertrain options. Maruti Suzuki is offering the new Alto K10 with the K10C 1-litre engine, which also powers the S-Presso, and the entry level hatch is also offered in six body colour options. Moreover, the company began accepting pre-bookings for the new Alto earlier this week and will soon start with the deliveries.

The new Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 faces competition from multiple bestselling models, including hatchbacks from within Maruti Suzuki's stable. While the Celerio gets the same engine as the Alto K10, in terms of price it sits in a segment higher, owing to its slightly better premium feel, which is why we are excluding it from this comparison. The Alto K10 sits in the middle of the Alto 800 and the S-Presso in terms of pricing, sharing certain components and features with both of those cars. Prices for the Alto 800 start at Rs. 3.39 lakh (Ex-showroom), and go up to Rs. 4.42 lakh for the top end variant in the petrol guise. The Alto 800 is also offered with factory fitted CNG, and the solitary variant costs Rs. 5.03 lakh (Ex-Showroom).

Maruti Suzuki S-Presso sits right above the Alto K10 in the food chain. With prices starting from Rs. 4.25 lakh (Ex-showroom) going up to Rs. 5.99 lakh for the top end automatic variant, the S-Presso is just slightly costlier than the Alto K10. It gets the same K10C 998 cc engine, but in a slightly larger body and a tall-boy design.

The Renault Kwid facelift surprised many with its very extensive makeover.
