With the new McLaren 720 destroying all the competition in terms of outright performance, the British supercar maker has announced yet another car next year. The new McLaren which will be very track focused will most likely be called the P15 and will be a part of the British supercar manufacturer's 'Ultimate Series' which in the past has had the likes of the P1. The P15 will not be a replacement for the P1 though but will probably cost as much and will only be made in limited numbers, all of which have already been pre sold to customers before the car has officially been showcased.
The new supercar's P15 nomenclature though is only temporary with the official name to the new car to be made public before the end of the year. The car will officially make its debut at the 2018 Geneva Auto Show. The new McLaren will feature an uprated version of the 3.8-litre Twin Turbo V8, which will make nearly 800 bhp. McLaren is also said to have ditched the idea of putting in any form of electrification into the P15 to make it as raw as possible and to keep it extremely track focused in order to offer the best driving experience.
According to the automaker, the P15 will be the 'most extreme, track-concentrated road car McLaren has yet designed." And will feature a full carbon tub and a full carbon fibre body. The interior too will be stripped out and will offer only the essential bits that are required to meet road going standards (like airbags). McLaren goes on to say that the new car is set to embody the "purest expression yet of the company's 'form follows function' philosophy," and that the new Ultimate Series McLaren will adopt a "brutal" design.
