Earlier this year, BMW Group India launched its second electric offering, the new MINI Cooper SE electric hatchback at Rs. 47.20 lakh (ex-showroom), offered in a single variant. However, the company sold out all 30 units allocated at the time within days before the launch. Launched as a Completely Built Unit (CBU), the MINI Cooper SE electric hatchback is now available for pre-bookings, and this time around, the company has allocated 40 units of the car in view of high demand. Nevertheless, the MINI Cooper SE electric hatchback will come at a premium this time around, at Rs. 50.90 lakh (ex-showroom, India), loaded with added features.

The cabin is carried over from the standard MINI Cooper but gets the yellow highlights to denote the electric powertrain
Apart from the features introduced with the Mini Cooper SE electric hatchback, the car will now sport Adaptive LED headlights, a comfort access system, a driving assistant, a parking assistant, and sports seats with new cloth/ leatherette combination upholstery in black pearl light chequered, and seat heating for driver and front passenger. The Mini Cooper SE also comes with a smart wall box charger with a fixed charging cable and one-time installation as standard.
BMW says the electric car can be juiced up from 0- 80 per cent in 36 minutes from a 50 kW DC charger.

The Mini Cooper SE electric hatchback is powered by a battery capacity of 32.6 kWh and a driving range of up to 270 km. This motor generates 184 bhp and a maximum torque of 270 Nm, the electric MINI sprints from 0-100 km in 7.3 seconds. As far as charging goes, BMW says the electric car can be juiced up from 0- 80 per cent in 36 minutes from a 50 kW DC charger, while an 11 kW AC charger does the same in 2 hours 30 minutes.
